Fuchsia Plant – Dancing Doll Flower

Fuchsia or Dancing Doll Flower is beautiful, delicate plant that comes in thousands of varieties and colors, with multi-colored blossoms that hang and droop beautifully from baskets, planters, and pots. It is a versatile, hardworking shrubs that will flower virtually all summer long. From spring to fall, they produce dozens of brightly coloured teardrop-shaped flowers from trailing stems, and they do so in the kind of shady conditions where most plants struggle.

Often trellised in the garden, these plants can be bushy or vining and trailing. Native to Central and South America, they grow profusely in the Andes where temperatures are cool, and the air is moist. These plants thrive in part shade to deep shade conditions. When growing indoors, they enjoy a bit more light—bright indirect light rather than direct sunlight.

This genus contains more than 100 woody shrubs and trees, but the familiar garden fuchsia widely available in garden centers are mostly hybrids chosen because they are ideal for hanging baskets and other containers.
