A Schlumbergera, Zygo Cactus, is a great plant to place in a plant hanger or on a shelf where its foliage is able to cascade over its pot. In the winter they produce beautiful white blooms at the end of vines. These beautiful blooming cacti make a great addition to your holiday decor and will last for years to come.
Zygo Cactus is native to a small area in the tropical forests and mountains of Brazil. They are relatively rare in the wild, but very popular in cultivation. It is a unique jungle cactus with long segmented vines that flower.
Christmas Cactus White blooms just in time for the holidays, hence their name and they’re pretty stunning too. The hanging branches, which are made up of flat, glossy green segments, can grow to up to 3 feet long. Flowers in red, white, yellow, pink, or purple appear at the tips of these branches and measure up to 3 inches long with several tiers of petals. Each bloom lasts for several days, and the entire flowering period of most cultivars will span several weeks.
Dos and Don’ts after receiving the plant
- Do not re-pot the plant immediately after receiving. We’ve taken care of that with better pot and rich soil.
- Keep the plant in indirect sunlight for 3 to 7 days.
- Always check the soil moisture and keep the plant hydrated all time. Do not over water it.
