Tillandsia Spanish Moss and Ionantha Combo
Tillandsia Usneoides, Spanish Moss, is a graceful clump of white, soft-leaved species. It’s easy to grow in brightly lit area with good air circulation. Flowers are purple tri-petal growing out the sides of a bloom spike. Slow grower, but with great results! An environmentally friendly plant such as the Tillandsia Usneoides fit into any interior and can be used as a decoration. For long fun, spray twice a week with water.
Tillandsia Ionantha is one of the most colourful of the air plants, which are part of the genus Tillandsia from the Bromeliaceae family. They are small, hardy, round, and have many uses. Spiky green foliage sprouts out from a round base and they will surpise you with their blooming colours.
If you want to grow air plants indoors and the air is dry, you will need to mist it frequently and keep it near a window where the air flows.
Spanish Moss is also popular with many people as they might have seen in on sunny holidays to places like Florida, central America and Mexico. Its long, hanging, rootless strands can reach up to 8m long! The small flower is single, with yellow green petals and flared tips. It enjoys bright, sunny and humid conditions.
When in bloom these little guys display a blushing beautiful red to orange colour with purple tubular flowers. It is very exciting when they burst into colour!
