The Dracaena Sanderiana resembles bamboo but is not a true bamboo at all. It is used to make the popular Lucky Bamboo plant. It is grown as a house plant outside of the tropical zone. It performs well in containers with partial shade outdoors or bright but indirect light indoors. It requires moist soil or it can be grown in chlorine-free water. Change the water weekly and provide with a weak liquid fertilizer.
This adaptable, houseplant thrives indoors or a partially-shady outdoor area, like a patio. They usually grow up to about 3ft tall indoors, which takes a fair few years, and have a bushy tree type of look about them.
