Anthurium Plowmanii
Bird's Nest Anthurium
Anthurium Wave of Love
This anthurium is one of the Instagram stars. It’s a wonderful, drought tolerant plant with long green leaves with slightly rippled or wavy edges. A fantastic pot plant or feature plant as well as an under-story filler in between larger trees and shrubs.
Bird’s Nest Anthurium like all Anthuriums grow naturally in South America. They are epiphyte which means they grow on other plants like trees but unlike parasites they don’t do any harm, taking nothing from the host apart from a good spot to grow.
It will grow large given the right care with large beautiful architectural thick leathery leaves. New leaves grow with a gorgeous vibrant green contrasting with the plants older darker leaves. The flowers are understated and elegant.
Like other Anthuriums it also doesn’t like direct sunlight and the leaves can be burned. Keep in bright indirect light and well draining media. It doesn’t need much care but while doing so always think about the Amazon rain forest. This plant requires a lot of humidity to grow well. That’s why it is better to place this plant with other indoor plants.
