It is a vigorous woody vine that produces stunning large, trumpet-shaped, orange to red flowers. It is a deciduous creeper that grows quickly. The flowers grow in plentiful, showy clumps at the end of each branch. The leaves have pointed edges, and their glossy dark green colour contrasts deeply against the bright orange clusters. It is an attractive plant that is cultivated as an ornamental. It has sharply toothed, pinnate green leaves and bears large, showy, bright trumpet-shaped flowers. It is drought-tolerant and grows well in warm climates.
