Kalanchoe Pink is a wonderful way to bring blooming color into their everyday! Dense clusters of tiny fragrant Pink flowers appear in spring on this vigorous, easy to grow ground cover.

Kalanchoes are easy-to-grow leafy succulents, often seen in florist shops or garden centres, producing long lasting heads of brilliantly coloured flowers. Most end up as potted plants but areas that can mimic their native land of Madagascar can grow them outdoors.

While usually grown as a house plant, the succulent perennials of the Kalanchoe family can grow outside in regions with warm or mild winters. Some Kalanchoe varieties are sold as annuals and discarded after the flowers fade. After blooming is finished enjoy the silvery coloured, evergreen leaves.

Kalanchoe, or kal-un-KOH-ee, or kal-un-kee, is a genus of about 125 species of tropical, succulent flowering plants in the family Crassulaceae, mainly native to Madagascar and tropical Africa. Kalanchoes come in white, yellow, orange, pinks, and a bright purple and there are two blooming varieties, the Kalanchoe and the Calandiva series, which has double the petal count. The leaves have scalloped edges and large clusters of flowers on short stems.

Water the plant from below once or twice a week. Water well, but allow to slightly dry out before watering again. Do not over-water; this will damage the roots. Do not leave the plant sitting in water for longer than 5 minutes. Kalanchoes thrive in temperatures from 5 – 30 degrees Celsius. Place in a well lit position indoors away from direct sun and draughts.
