Philodendron Birkin
Philodendron Birkin is a stunning variety that develops pure white pinstripes on its foliage, growing ever more variegated as the plant matures. This is a somewhat smaller, non-vining Philodendron with an upright growth habit. The Philodendron Birkin is a most unlikely mutation from its mother plant the Rojo Congo. Althought said to be a stable mutation sometimes it can have flashes of red and pink in the leaves, which makes it that bit more exciting and unpredictable. A must for any rare aroid collector or lover of variegated plants.
Being a slower growing variety of Philodendron makes them ideal for small brightly lit spaces or as a striking tabletop focal point, and as they grow will eventually make a lovely floor level display plant. Wherever you choose to display this plant, be it as a statement plant or accent piece among other foliage, the Birkin will work hard at providing you with fresh air as it is an excellent air purifier.
This ease to care for plant is one of the most popular houseplants. In tropical regions it can survive outside, however in most places it is used strictly as a houseplant. While blooms on this fast-growing climber may appear at any time during the year most plants in confinement never bloom. The Philodendron is an evergreen vine that thrives in partial shade at moderate temperatures.
