Philodendron Lupinum
Lupinum is an amazing Philodendron! The juvenile leaves look drastically different from the mature foliage. This is a pretty underrated plant and is quite similar to Gigas and Melanochrysum. It is a newly described species and of all the aroids that change as they mature, this one has to take the cake. Looking like a tiny velvet climber with crimson backs when young, this beauty completely changes into a fabulous rippled Philodendron with top lobes! Philodendron Lupinum is a very rare and a truly remarkable plant.
Despite its rarity, the Philodendron Lupinum is pretty much as easy to care for as other more common Philodendrons. It is an easy, drought tolerant aroid ideal for indoors as an air purifier houseplant. It can also well adapt to a high humidity environment like terrarium and vivarium if provide good air movement.
This easy to care for plant is one of the most popular houseplants. In tropical regions it can survive outside, however in most places it is used strictly as a houseplant. While blooms on this fast-growing climber may appear at any time during the year most plants in confinement never bloom. The Philodendron is an evergreen vine that thrives in partial shade at moderate temperatures.
