The Philodendron Golden Dragon Variegated (often associated with Philodendron ‘Lime Fiddle’ or Philodendron ‘Camouflage’) is a highly sought-after hybrid believed to originate from Thailand. It is prized by collectors not just for its colour, but for its unusual leaf architecture.
As the plant matures, its glossy, deep-green leaves develop deep pinnate lobes that resemble a dragon’s head or a floating mask. In this variegated form, the dark foliage is splashed with spectacular “stardust” speckles, sectors, or mottling in shades of creamy gold, lime green, and pale yellow.
Because this is a chimeric variegated plant, every leaf is a unique piece of living art; some leaves may emerge with heavy golden sectors, while others display subtle lime-on-green marbling.
A standard aroid mix and normal watering, when the top two inches are dry, is recommended. It is a unique addition to your houseplant collection. The leaf shape does vary quite a bit, with juvenile leaves looking much different from mature leaves. It is an excellent air purifier.
